When Giving Praise Frimpong decided to pursue an MBA, she knew she wanted a program that would both challenge her academically and provide opportunities for personal growth and professional development. After receiving a generous scholarship offer from SFBU — by far the best among various MBA programs — she was certain it was the right fit. SFBU’s strategic location in the heart of Silicon Valley, along with its strong network and resources, offered the perfect environment to advance her career in business. Frimpong is excited to graduate in 2026 and fully take advantage of the connections and opportunities SFBU provides.
Frimpong serves as the president of the International Students Club, a role that allows her to make a tangible impact by building a supportive community for fellow international students. Having come to the U.S. from Ghana, she understood how many students would share “common experiences like homesickness, culture shock and surviving in the U.S.” Through the club, Frimpong helps create a “home away from home” where international students can connect, share experiences and support each other as they learn more about American culture. The diversity at SFBU is one of its greatest strengths, and Frimpong takes pride in fostering that inclusivity on campus. In addition, she is also the secretary of the Business Club, where she helps organize networking events and career development activities for other Bayhawks.
Before joining SFBU, Frimpong worked in Ghana in various roles, including internal auditing, accounting and sales. She contributed to the African Library Association and completed internships at organizations such as Cal Bank and Vanguard. One of the things Frimpong appreciates most about SFBU is the supportive and approachable staff. From professors to administrators, the staff genuinely care about students’ success — both professionally and personally. While searching for jobs during her first semester at SFBU has been challenging, Frimpong remains confident that the skills and experiences she’s accumulated, paired with the support from SFBU, will open doors in the future.
If Frimpong were to recommend SFBU to someone else, she would highlight how uniquely tailored the University is to student needs. “SFBU is the best option for you to consider, because the programs here are very catered to the students,” she shares. “Staff and faculty are not only interested in your academic life but in your career and what you want to do in the future, and there are always resources and programs to upgrade your journey.”
