Welcome to San Francisco Bay University! You are about to begin one of the most exciting and challenging experiences of your lifetime. Living in university housing offers the benefit of being close to campus and providing you with an opportunity to live and learn alongside other SFBU students.

Housing Information

Startup Scholars are guaranteed fall and spring semester housing with other Startup Scholars or undergraduate students. Housing for other undergraduate and graduate students in university-owned residences is limited and offered through a lottery system.

Housing is two bedrooms with double occupancy. This means four students will occupy a two-bedroom unit.

Please note: SFBU has a small number of three-bedroom units which accommodate six students.

Each bedroom has two beds, two desks, and two chairs
Washer and dryer in the unit
Kitchen table and chairs
High-speed internet connection
Refrigerator and microwave

Housing units are limited and available only to current SFBU students.

Students must have submitted an enrollment deposit in order to be considered for a housing assignment.
Housing assignments are offered using a lottery system.

SFBU will notify you during the week of June 24 if you have been given a housing assignment or whether you have been placed on a waitlist. You must accept your assignment within three business days so that the space may be made available to another student should you decline the offer. For this reason, it is important that your housing application includes an email address that you monitor regularly. SFBU is not responsible for any delays, failures in delivery, or consequences resulting from a delay or failure in delivery of email to the email address which you have provided.
In general, students may live in university-owned housing for up to one year (fall and spring semesters).
The application for summer housing will be made available in the spring semester.

Meet the Residential Life Community Coordinator

Residential Community Coordinator David San Felipe, M.A.(He/Him/Siya)

My name is David (He/Him/Siya), and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new residential community coordinator at San Francisco Bay University. I am a proud first-generation college student born and raised in the Philippines and now a proud first-generation professional in higher education.

I received my bachelor’s in social work from California State University, Sacramento, and my master’s in higher education and student affairs from the University of San Francisco. Before joining SFBU, I worked as a residential hall coordinator at Soka University in Orange County, California, and previously as the student outreach and retention program specialist at the University of California, Irvine.

Since 2014, I have been deeply involved in residential life education, fostering safe and brave spaces for dialogue while honing my passion for community-building, a sense of belonging, and the values of authenticity and openness.

Outside of work, I enjoy sipping boba or milk tea, immersing myself in nature, diving into a good book, traveling to new destinations, and exploring local spots in the cities. I also enjoy cherishing moments with my corgi, Una, and we are excited for our new adventure in the Bay Area.

I am excited to be a part of the residential community and look forward to meeting each of you! Please feel free to stop by my office, located inside the Student Success Hub if you need help or just want to chat.
