Kafele J. Khalfani, Ed.D.

Associate Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students/Title IX Coordinator

Kafele J. Khalfani, Ed.D., is responsible for heading the BRIDGE/Care Team, Student Emergency Fund, Student Conduct, New Student Orientation, the Cristo Rey internship program, co-chairing the Commencement Committee, and serving as the Title IX Coordinator. Previously, he was Dean of Student Affairs for Warren College at UC San Diego, overseeing residence life and student services for over 5,000 undergraduates. Kafele earned a B.S. in Marketing from Syracuse University and an M.A. in Advertising from Michigan State University. He worked as an Account Executive at Ogilvy & Mather, handling clients like Cotton Incorporated and Hershey’s, before moving to California in 2001 to manage brands like Rice-A-Roni and Dole Fresh Salads at Suissa Miller Advertising. Transitioning to higher education, Kafele worked at Loyola Marymount University, UC Riverside, the College of Staten Island and Cal State Fullerton. He earned his Ed.D. from USC and has been active in professional associations, serving as WACUHO President and on the Board of Directors for the San Diego LGBT Center. Kafele is also Dean of Diversity at Smarty Pants, LLC.
