Important Update for Summer 2025 Applicants 

Due to recent adjustments to our academic calendar, we are unable to admit first-time F-1 students and F-1 transfer students for the Summer 2025 term. However, we’re excited to see your application for the Fall 2025 term!

 

San Francisco Bay University accepts applications throughout the year to admit students into Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters. Please refer to the dates below to submit your application.

Definitions

Understanding the different types of students can help clarify the various pathways and requirements for studying in the U.S.

Domestic Student

A student who is a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States, or has been granted Asylee, Refugee, or Paroled in the Public Interest status by the U.S. government.

International Student

A student who is studying in a country other than their own on a non-immigrant, temporary visa that allows for academic study at the post-secondary level.

International Change of Status Student

A student in the U.S. who changes their visa status to F-1 (student visa) from another non-immigrant status (e.g., B-2 tourist visa) by applying to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or by traveling abroad and re-entering the U.S. on the new status.

International F-1 Visa Transfer Student

An F-1 student who transfers from one Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school to another while maintaining their F-1 status. This involves notifying the designated school official (DSO) at the current school and coordinating the transfer process.

New Student Orientation

As an admitted student, you must attend the mandatory NSO, including course registration and advising sessions.
