San Francisco Bay University is excited to announce the election of the 2025 Student Government. This team of student leaders is ready to represent the diverse interests of the student body and enhance campus life.
Josiah Allyn ’28 was elected as student body president and brings a clear vision for the future. “My goal is to create more opportunities for the students,” he said. “I will work to create more on-campus job opportunities for students to gain valuable experience while establishing connections with nearby schools to bring more excitement and enjoyment for all.”
Allyn’s decision to run for president came from a desire to close the gap between students’ needs and the administration. “I saw a lot of opportunities and wants from the students,” Allyn said. “There wasn’t much communication between what students wanted and the people who could make those changes, so I wanted to be the bridge between them.”
The election saw strong participation, with over 190 students casting their votes. Student Life Manager Michael Leinhos organized the elections and was amazed by the high turnout among both graduate and undergraduate populations. The enthusiasm of the newly elected leaders was evident to him.
“Students who are actively involved in clubs and socializing were primarily the ones elected because they genuinely care about the student body,” Leinhos said.
Along with Allyn, San Francisco Bay University’s new student government includes: Vice President Md Shahedul Islam Emon (‘27), Secretary Sao Mai Le (‘25), Treasurer Priyangka Sarker Sarmi (‘27), School of Engineering Representative Aayush Maharjan (‘26), School of Business Representative Christine Castro (‘26) and Undergraduate Representative Manmeet Kaur (‘27).
With a strong team representing various backgrounds and interests, the student government is eager to make an impact by addressing the needs of all students, organizing events and creating opportunities for student engagement. They are ready to listen and take action, modeling San Francisco Bay University’s motto: “There is no stopping us.”
As president, Allyn is ready to lead with a commitment to student-driven change, and he encourages all students to get involved in shaping the university’s future.
“My favorite thing about the student body is that we all come with our own ideas,” Allyn said. “Together, we can create something incredible.”
