Under My Wing: Peer Mentorship Program

The Under My Wing: Peer Mentorship Program enhances the Bayhawk experience by linking Master's students one-on-one with a peer mentor. Students and mentors are matched based on common academic interests, career goals, life challenges, and experiences. Topics range from time management and work-life balance to networking and job-seeking advice.

Master's students are paired with someone invested in their success — a person ready to listen, provide career advice, help navigate challenges, and recognize opportunities. At the same time, mentors will build their networks and develop skills to become better professionals and leaders.

What Do Mentors and Mentees Discuss?

Conversations will vary depending on the needs of each mentee and the expertise offered by their mentor, but you can expect to discuss some of the following topics together:

  • How will my major impact my professional options?
  • How do I stand out in a job or internship application?
  • How do I balance the demands of school, responsibilities and socializing?
  • How can I set myself up for academic, social and career success?
  • How do I make connections with peers and professional contacts?

Mentor Eligibility Criteria

Peer Mentors must be Master's students with 20 or fewer credits left before their graduation date and commit until the official program end date of Spring 2025.

How Does the Program Work?

Students interested in becoming a peer mentor should submit the following form. After the incoming class is fully enrolled, our office will begin pairing students and notify you accordingly.

We are actively recruiting students and mentors for the upcoming school year.
