Johnathan Mun, Ph.D.
Professor and Chair of Business
Dr. Johnathan Mun is a full-time Professor and Chair of the Business Department at SFBU. He has over 26 years of experience building businesses, consulting, training, and academia. During that time, Dr. Mun has authored and published 32 books (several are translated into multiple languages), registered 13 patents, developed 12 software applications, and has taught at universities in ten countries (U.S., U.K., Australia, China, Colombia, Ghana, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela). His books and software are used by over 50 universities worldwide. In addition, Dr. Mun has published over 150 academic journal articles and technical reports and has consulted for more than 100 global corporations and organizations (e.g., 3M, Airbus, Boeing, Cubic, Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electric, State of California, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Marine Corps, and the U.S. Navy). He is also the CEO of Real Options Valuation, Chairman at IIPER Global, and currently sits on the Board of Directors at OSL Risk Management (U.K.).
Dr. Mun holds a Ph.D. in Finance and Economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania; an M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University, Miami, Florida; and a B.S. in Biology and Physics from the University of Miami, Florida. He is also a C.Q.R.M. (Certified in Quantitative Risk Management, IIPER Global), F.R.M. (Certified in Financial Risk Management, GARP), and C.F.C. (Certified in Financial Consulting, AAFM). Dr. Mun’s other previous experience includes working for Real Options Valuation, Inc. as its CEO, as a Research Professor in the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, as Vice President of Analytics at Oracle-Decisioneering, and as Senior Manager at KPMG Consulting.
His areas of interest in teaching include corporate finance, financial management, financial economics, econometrics, quantitative analytics, data science, strategic real options, predictive modeling, simulation, and optimization.

Mike Aquilina
Mike Aquilina is a seasoned high-tech executive and business instructor with 30 years of experience in companies like Adaptec and Fujitsu. He has played a key role in launching and marketing high-tech products, and most recently served as Sr. Director of e-Commerce and Marketing at Fujitsu, leading their website and digital marketing efforts. Mike has been teaching Business, Finance, Marketing, and Statistics at Bay Area colleges for over 20 years and has been with SFBU since 2015. He holds a B.S.
Flora Chu
Flora has over 20 years of teaching experience in accounting, auditing, financial investment, and business capstone courses. With expertise in corporate leadership, strategic planning, and financial modeling, Flora specializes in Sarbanes-Oxley internal control, revenue recognition, process improvement, and software conversion.
Timothy Dupic
Dr. Dupic recently sold his family business, which he founded in 2006. He has held leadership roles, including CEO of Nemont Telecommunications Cooperative, General Manager of The Toledo Telephone Company, and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Golden West Telecommunications. He also served as Vice President of Operations and Corporate Secretary for Dakota Telecommunications Group. Dr. Dupic has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry and has served on multiple national and state boards. He holds a B.S.
Mariam Ghazvini
Dr. Mariam Ghazvini is a professional mentor, coach, and distinguished toastmaster with expertise in leadership, emotional intelligence, management tactics, and human resources management. She holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education from USC, an MA in Counseling from Santa Clara University, an MA in Higher Education from San Jose State University, and a BA in Sociology. Dr. Ghazvini’s recent research and teaching focus on Positive Intelligence. She is passionate about guiding others toward success through personal and professional development.
Mitchell Gurick
Dr. Mitch Gurick is an Adjunct Faculty member at San Francisco Bay University, teaching Human Resource Management and "How to Design Your Life: A Journey Through Personal Epistemology." He holds a PhD in Global Leadership and Change from Pepperdine University and is dedicated to guiding students in their personal and professional growth. In addition to his faculty role, Dr. Gurick works as a member of the HR staff at OpenAI, focusing on cultivating a people-centric culture and expanding global people operations.
Magdy Hussein
Dr. Hussein is the CEO and founder of the Leadership Development Institute, with extensive expertise in organization design. A distinguished scholar, he is a fellow with the Quarterly Franklin by London Press and a reviewer for several academic journals, including the *Emerald - International Journal of Organizational Analysis* and *Social Responsibility Journal*. Professionally, he is a triple-award-winning judge for the LearningElite Program and a member of the Workforce Group Business Intelligence Board. Dr.
Stanislav Kelman
Stanislav is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience across various industries. He recently co-founded a company specializing in AI-powered automotive navigation. Stanislav has held key managerial roles in the Bay Area tech sector, including leading the Data Science function at Credit Karma and overseeing the Analytics department at Credit Sesame. Previously, he worked as an engineer at General Dynamics, managing thousands of guided rocket simulations. An avid traveler, Stanislav has driven across North America nine times.
Arshad Khan
Mr. Khan is an analytics professional and adjunct professor with over three decades of teaching experience at 10 universities. He has authored 21 books, including six on analytics and two on artificial intelligence. His expertise includes data visualization, dashboards, and data analysis. Mr. Khan holds a graduate degree in chemical engineering and an MBA.
